Giving medication to children can be difficult at the best of times. This is only made more difficult when a child has an allergy or intolerance to a particular medicine or an inactive component of the medicine.
In collaboration with your practitioner, pharmaceutical compounding has the advantage of being able to make some medicines from scratch, whilst leaving out certain ingredients, flavours, colours etc. Sometimes we can even change the dosage form to a more acceptable one for example, changing a tablet to a liquid, or a rapid-dissolving tablet.
At Priceline Pharmacy Pacific Fair, we know that each child is unique and we will always endeavour to find a solution to your child’s individual medication needs.
Compounded dosage forms include:
- Transdermal creams/ gels
- Nasal sprays
- Rapid dissolving tablets (RDT’s)
- Topical Sprays
- Troches (lozenges)
- Oral liquids
There are compounded medications available that your doctor may not be aware of. If you are interested in learning more, please call one of our compounding pharmacists on (07) 5592 2099 or e-mail us at: email@example.com.
