Women's Health at Pacific Fair

From contraception to pregnancy and menopause, women's health questions deserve time and privacy. At Priceline Pharmacy Pacific Fair in Broadbeach, our pharmacists can help with many of them on the spot, in our private consultation room. When you need a doctor, the GPs at Help Medical are located inside our store.

Contraception

• Contraception consultations. In Queensland, our trained pharmacists can prescribe the pill, the vaginal ring and the contraceptive injection for eligible women aged 16 and over, without a GP visit.
• Emergency contraception. Available from our pharmacists without an appointment. Ask at the counter and we'll talk privately.
• Longer-acting options. For implants or IUDs, we can refer you to a GP at Help Medical.

Urinary tract infections

Burning or stinging when you pass urine? Our trained pharmacists can assess and, if suitable, treat uncomplicated UTIs in women aged 18 to 65. Find out about UTI treatment.

Pregnancy and planning a family

• Advice on pre-conception and pregnancy supplements. See vitamins and supplements.
• Whooping cough and flu vaccines, which are recommended in pregnancy and free under the National Immunisation Program.
• Checking whether your medicines, including over-the-counter ones, are safe in pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
• Pregnancy tests, breastfeeding supplies and baby care.

Periods and menopause

Painful or heavy periods, premenstrual symptoms and menopause symptoms such as hot flushes and poor sleep can all affect daily life. Our pharmacists can talk through options that don't need a prescription, and help you decide when it's worth seeing a GP.

Everyday health

• Thrush symptoms: ask a pharmacist, and see a GP if symptoms keep coming back or you're pregnant.
• Free blood pressure checks at our Health Station.
• Skincare advice for hormonal breakouts, pigmentation and sensitive skin.

When to see a GP

See a doctor if you have unusual bleeding, pelvic pain, a breast lump, symptoms that keep coming back, or if you're pregnant and unsure about a medicine. In an emergency, call 000.
